Conflict of Interest

Definition: A conflict of interest occurs when personal, financial, or other considerations may compromise, or have the appearance of compromising, a professional judgment.

Disclosure: Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any relationships that could be viewed as potential conflicts of interest at the time of submission or review.

Management of Conflicts: When a conflict is reported, the journal will assess the nature of the conflict and determine the appropriate course of action, which may include recusal or detailed disclosure in the publication.

Post-Publication Conflicts: If a conflict is identified after publication, the journal will investigate the matter and may publish a correction or statement as required.

The policy is based on the Core Practices from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)
