Plagiarism and Retraction

Plagiarism Policy

Definition: Plagiarism is the act of using another author's language, thoughts, or ideas and presenting them as one's original work.

Policy: Papers submitted to Jurnal Riset Kimia must be original and not pending publication elsewhere. Any verbatim material from another source must be clearly indicated and cited. If plagiarism is detected, consequences will be applied based on the level of severity:

  • Minor: A small section plagiarized. Action: Authors are warned and asked to revise the text.
  • Intermediate: A significant portion plagiarized. Action: The paper is rejected, and authors are barred from submitting for one year.
  • Severe: Substantial plagiarism, including reproduction of original ideas or results. Action: The paper is rejected, and authors are barred from submitting for five years.

All authors are accountable for their submissions. Repeat offenses may lead to a permanent submission ban.

Retraction Policy

Papers in Jurnal Riset Kimia may be retracted if:

  • Findings are unreliable due to misconduct or error.
  • Work has been previously published without proper permissions or justification.
  • Content constitutes plagiarism.
  • Research is unethical.
