Author Guidelines

1. Submission of Manuscript

JRK accepts manuscripts written in English. Manuscripts must use clear, grammatically correct English and follow the journal template and Author Guidelines. JRK publishes original research articles, communications, and review articles. Review articles are considered at the invitation or request of the Editorial Board. All submissions must be original, must not be under consideration by another journal, and must comply with the journal’s publication ethics policies.

  • Authors must disclose any similar or related work that has been published or submitted elsewhere and provide copies of such work with their submission.
  • Manuscripts must be free from plagiarism, duplicate publication, and inappropriate text recycling, including self-plagiarism.
  • Authors must provide a statement letter when required by the journal prior to publication.
  • Manuscripts must follow the Jurnal Riset Kimia manuscript template.
  • Manuscripts should be between 2,000 and 3,000 words and submitted in Microsoft Word format.
  • Manuscripts must use Times New Roman, 11-point font, 1.5 line spacing, and a single-column layout. Margins and other formatting requirements must follow the Jurnal Riset Kimia template.
  • All manuscripts must be submitted through the JRK online submission system.

Manuscript Anonymization for Peer Review

JRK uses double-anonymous peer review, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other during the review process to the extent practicable.

Authors must submit an anonymized manuscript file that does not contain author names, affiliations, email addresses, acknowledgments identifying the authors, or other directly identifying information. Identifying information must also be removed from document properties, file names, and supplementary files intended for reviewers.

A separate title page containing the manuscript title, full author names, institutional affiliations, corresponding author details, and other identifying information must be provided during submission. The title page must not be included in files sent to reviewers.

Authors should ensure that self-citations and references to previous work do not unnecessarily reveal their identities while maintaining accurate and complete citations.

The editorial office may return submissions that do not meet the anonymization requirements for correction before external peer review.

2. Format of Manuscript

The manuscript containing the following information: title, the full name of each author and affiliation, abstract in English and keywords. Jurnal Riset Kimia uses several sub-headings containing Introduction, Materials, and Methods, Results and Discussions, Conclusions, Acknowledgments, and Bibliography. Avoid using too many sub-headings.

  • Title. The title should concise and informative. Avoid abbreviations and formula where possible.
  • Author information. The names of the authors are written without an academic degree, accompanied by the names of each institution (if different, write separately). The corresponding author is marked with *, ensure that the e-mail address is given and that contact details are kept up to date by the corresponding author.
  • Abstract. The abstract should briefly state the purpose of the research, the principal results and major conclusions in one paragraph and it has to be written in English. As per the journal style, the abstract text should not be more than 250 words. Immediately after the abstract, provide a maximum of 6 keywords, avoiding general and plural terms and multiple concepts. These keywords will be used for indexing purposes.
  • Figures. Ensure that each figure has a caption with a sequential number (1,2,3,...). A caption should comprise a brief title and a description of the figure. Keep text in the figure themselves to a minimum but explain all symbols and abbreviations used. Examples are provided in the Jurnal Riset Kimia template.
  • Tables. Ensure that each table has a caption with a sequential number (1,2,3,...) with the caption above the table body and place any table notes below the table body. Examples are provided in the Jurnal Riset Kimia template.
  • References. References are placed at the end of the manuscript with sequential numbers based on the order that appears in the text. The bibliography in the text is referred to using numbers as superscripts with square brackets. It is highly recommended to use reference software. Jurnal Riset Kimia provides output styles for Mendeley users.

2. Online Journal Version

Author's name, Title, Journal abbreviation, volume, online number (year).

3. Book Chapter

Author's name, Title, (Ed: Editor's name), publisher, volume: page number (year).

Example: Bhati I, Tak P, Sharma H, Ameta R., Photocatalysis: an emerging technology. Green Chemistry: Fundamentals and Applications, (Ed: Sharma H. & Ameta R.), Apple Academic Press, 199- 205 (2013).

4. Book

Author's name, Book title, Edition: Publisher, (year).

Example: Pevsner, J., Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics. John Wiley & Sons (2015).

5. Web references

Author's name, Title, URL website, access date

Example: Ben Best, General Antioxidant Actions, https://www. benbest.com, 13/6/2006

Jurnal Riset Kimia recommends using references software for references and bibliography (eg. Mendeley, EndNote, BibTex, etc).

Please find the rights and licenses in Jurnal Riset Kimia (J. Ris. Kim). By submitting the article/manuscript of the article, the author(s) agree with this policy. No specific document sign-off is required.

2. Author(s)' Warranties

The author warrants that the article is original, written by stated author(s), has not been published before, contains no unlawful statements, does not infringe the rights of others, is subject to copyright that is vested exclusively in the author and free of any third party rights, and that any necessary written permissions to quote from other sources have been obtained by the author(s).

3. User Rights

Under the Creative Commons license, the journal permits users to copy, distribute, and display the material for any purpose. Users will also need to attribute authors and J. Ris. Kim on distributing works in the journal and other media of publications.

4. Rights of Authors

Authors retain all their rights to the published works, such as (but not limited to) the following rights;

  • Copyright and other proprietary rights relating to the article, such as patent rights,
  • The right to use the substance of the article in own future works, including lectures and books,
  • The right to reproduce the article for own purposes,
  • The right to self-archive the article,
  • The right to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the article's published version (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.

5. Co-Authorship

If the article was jointly prepared by more than one author, any authors submitting the manuscript warrants that he/she has been authorized by all co-authors to be agreed on this copyright and license notice (agreement) on their behalf, and agrees to inform his/her co-authors of the terms of this policy. J. Ris. Kim will not be held liable for anything that may arise due to the author(s) internal dispute. J. Ris. Kim will only communicate with the corresponding author.
