Authors are responsible for ensuring that references accurately represent the sources on which their work is based.

Citation manipulation, including the addition of unnecessary references for the purpose of artificially increasing citations to particular authors, articles, journals, or organizations, is inconsistent with the journal's publication ethics standards.
